First Penance in our Parish

At St. John XXIII, First Penance is done in the Spring for students who have completed their two year preparation classes

Youth First Penance:

Youth begin the two year Communion/Penance Prep classes in Grade 1.
Contact the Parish Youth Formation Director to sign up for preparation classes or for any questions.
The Prep classes take place during the school year months, and meet once a month after Sunday Mass. There are other requirements also - Click here for more information on the classes
First Penance is done in Spring after classes are completed.

Adult First Penance:

First Penance is performed before Easter Vigil

Candidates go through preparation in the RCIA program before being confirmed. Click here for more information.

After First Penance, the Sacrament should be utilized periodically - monthly or more frequently as needed. Click here for our Reconciliation times.
