First Penance in our Parish

At St. John XXIII, First Penance is done in the Spring for students who have completed their two year preparation classes

Youth First Penance:

  • Youth begin the two year Communion/Penance Prep classes in Grade 1.
  • Contact the Parish Youth Formation Director to sign up for preparation classes or for any questions. 
  • The Prep classes take place during the school year months, and meet once a month after Sunday Mass.  There are other requirements also - Click here for more information on the classes
  • First Penance is done in Spring after classes are completed.

Adult First Penance:

First Penance is performed before Easter Vigil

After First Penance, the Sacrament should be utilized periodically - monthly or more frequently as needed.  Click here for our Reconciliation times.
