Directions for St. Jerome's Old Cemetery

Unfortunately, there is not a physical address for this cemetery. Some directions take you to a different section of Nescopec St.  We are working on this problem, but for now, below are some ways to easily find this cemetery.  ** NOTE:  Nescopec St. is found in other separate, unconnected sections in Tamaqua. Make sure you are at the correct area


Best GPS address to use: 

High St and S Nescopec St. Tamaqua

FROM ALLENTOWN or LEHIGHTON AREA (south of Tamaqua):

  • Take Rt. 309 North
  • Turn LEFT at first traffic light coming into town onto Spruce St.
  • Go over railroad tracks and one block past traffic light
  • Turn RIGHT onto narrow Bowe St.
  • At top of hill, turn LEFT onto High St.
  • Cemetery is one block ahead on the RIGHT

FROM POCONOS AREA (north/east of Tamaqua):

  • Take Rt. 209 into center of Tamaqua
  • Turn LEFT onto Center St./Rt. 309 (3rd traffic light)
  • After Burger King, turn RIGHT onto Spruce St. (2nd traffic light)
  • Go over railroad tracks and one block past traffic light
  • Turn RIGHT onto narrow Bowe St.
  • At top of hill, turn LEFT onto High St.
  • Cemetery is one block ahead on the RIGHT

FROM HAZLETON AREA (north of Tamaqua):

  • Take 309 South through Tamaqua
  • After Burger King, turn RIGHT onto Spruce St.
  • Go over railroad tracks and one block past traffic light
  • Turn RIGHT onto narrow Bowe St.
  • At top of hill, turn LEFT onto High St.
  • Cemetery is one block ahead on the RIGHT
PRINT DIRECTIONS

FROM POTTSVILLE AREA (west of Tamaqua):

  • Take 209 North, bear right into Tamaqua
  • Turn RIGHT at the first intersection onto S. Lehigh St. (Gas station is on the corner)
  • Go up Stadium Hill towards high school
  • Take the first LEFT about half way up the hill onto High St.
  • Go about 4 or 5 blocks
  • Cemetery is on the RIGHT
