Comfort Teams

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” — 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

Comfort Teams bring Jesus in various ways through our actions, no matter how small or large, to bring comfort to those afflicted in any way – reaching out to loneliness, illness, disability, grief . . . .

These teams mainly work mainly behind the scenes. The Comfort Angels may interact personally with an individual.

  • Do you enjoy being there for others?
  • Do you like helping but don’t know what you can do?
  • Do you enjoy bringing comfort to others?
  • Can you spare about an hour as needed for times of a loss?
  • Can you spare a few minutes or more to reach out to parishioners in need?

Providing comfort to others in need

Take some time to call someone, send a card, visit, or provide other attention to those who are marginal or in need – whatever amount of time you can spare.

Create Spiritual Prayer Bouquets for active ministers

Organize and prepare Spiritual Bouquet cards for active ministers who have experienced the loss of a love one.

Since there is a potential for children to part of many of these ministries, or to be at the parish, all ministers should obtain clearances according to the Diocese Safe Environment Program.
